Nice cooler for drinks!

Connected immediately upon receipt and happy with the purchase. I had an energy drink in the mini fridge and it kept it cold all day. They usually keep you warm because it takes me a long time to drink them. One thing I noticed is that the info says 1 line is cool and 2 lines is cool, but actually it's the other way around. 1 line is used for heating and 2 lines for cooling. As for the light he's talking about, I haven't seen it. NO instructions included!

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • No paint required

It doesn't really chill your drink

It doesn't actually chill your drink, but it does slow it down. After 4 hours of mains operation, the drink was no colder than when poured. Standard beverage can. It's cute though, so if all you need is a can-sized drink storage space that looks like a tiny fridge and takes up unnecessary hard drive space (seriously, the box says you need RAM and hard drive space for this unit), Continue.

I was a little skeptical about how well something like this would work

I was a little skeptical about how well something like this would work, but I decided to give it a shot. and i am not disappointed. I plugged it into my computer's USB hub and set it to room temperature. (72 degrees) 16 ounces of soda in it, and after a few seconds the back of the plate was already cold, and after 20 minutes the soda was noticeably colder. The device feels pretty solid, except perhaps for the door, which seems pretty light. Weight. But since it sits well on my desk as long asโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Looking forward to it
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...

Barely cools a can but takes hours and does NOT last two

Even in an air conditioned office, this unit doesn't have USB power to really cool a can; even at night. This can at best lower the temperature of a room temperature can/bottle and potentially delay the temperature rise if you drink slowly. Also, it will NOT fit in two vertical 12 ounce cans and still has about 1/4 inch of headroom as shown. This is full Photoshop, not a production variant. You CAN squeeze two cans in if you fold them and then push hard to get them there. Save your money andโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Bad design is a fundamental flaw.

Let's start with what another user mentioned: This product can't hold two cans of US soda like the picture suggests, nor will it chill them. I figured maybe it was because the TEC wasn't drawing enough current to adequately cool the soda, so I cut off the USB end and connected the wires to a regulated power supply. Then I increased the voltage and let as much current flow as needed. At 12V and 2.5A, the behavior of the device and why it doesn't work finally becomes clear: The CHP does its jobโ€ฆ
