Instructions are not detailed enough

I wanted to print my hand for my girlfriend as a DIY gift and thought this shape would be perfect. Well after getting it pretty quickly I opened it up and started. First I got the container to put the mold/my hand in because I heard the box was leaking and I didn't want to clean it. Then I looked at the instructions and while it seemed enough, it left us with a lot of questions. First, it mentions the amount of water needed for the mold but not the temperature. I've noticed that you need warm water for some other shapes, but that just says water, nothing if it needs to be warm/hot/cold etc. I just used some cool water, which might have been a bad idea since I other shapes used knew warmer water but I thought "If he needed warm water he would say it somewhere", I looked it up, not even looking at the tips or the long intro. The site says more than water. So I mix it up, put it in a container and put my hand in it. Maybe it's my fault because I had an idea for my position but my container was too small to work with so moving didn't help. However, as instructed, I waited 5 minutes for the mold to set, but it still wasn't set, so I waited another 5. I still felt like it wasn't firm enough for my hand to remove, so I waited a little longer. (I don't set the alarm for another 5 because I don't think it lasts long). At this point I was starting to regret that my hand had been there too long and could get stuck so I took it out, when the entire clump of mold that was being attracted to my hand came out of the container I panicked and pushed him back. I'll wait and hope I haven't spoiled the form. Personally it would make sense if using cooler water lasted much longer, but then again I haven't seen anywhere how hot the water should be. I waited for the consistency to become jelly-like and then removed my hand. The shape almost collapsed on its own, perhaps because I seemed to have removed my hand too early (but it was longer than the instructions say) and/or my hand position was a semi-clenched fist. I understood why it would be more difficult than an open hand or clenched fist, but also there was no information on what hand positions would be best for this, so it would be nice to know. and although he told me to wait 45 minutes I left him alone overnight just in case. Coming back, nowhere in the instructions is there a mention of water on the patch while it dries. I feel like I wasted my time, I'm not sure when it will be finished as it's pretty much finished. Then I try to get my hand out and I basically have to open the whole mold to spread this stuff all over the place. Seriously, the mess surrounding this thing is outrageous. There is no way to avoid it affecting you or most of those around you. Ripping the mold was also like scratching raw chicken, maybe I just broke it too much as hopefully most people tear it into as few pieces as possible. Then I understood. what the pictures show. Yes, he copied the bottom of the container better than my hand. Maybe when I pressed my hands into the bottom it created a hole in the mold which then shrank leaving room to fill the bottom, I have no idea it just ended up like that. After that, re-reading the instructions, it mentions not to touch the bottom of the box, so the fault is entirely mine. Overall I decided to do this in frustration due to my mistakes and lack of instructions. I wish I could do it again and avoid some of these problems, or at least I wish they had enough mold and cast for 2 tries, a try and a pretty one. I'm pretty sure you need to mess up the box by following the instructions, but the other container still works, just don't do what I did. not mentioned in the instructions 1) Use a container other than a box that is taller than it is wide and fits comfortably in your hand without touching the bottom (this last part is in the instructions but still important to mention) 2 ) Remember to position your front of hand and set before mixing, and also try not to move around in the mix 3) Use warm water (not hot, just warm), not only won't your hands get cold, but I'm pretty sure the mold will set quicker (that's just my theory but no harm in trying) 4) Don't stick to the time given there when molding the mold, just wait until it gets a jelly-like texture beforehand Consistency will Remove 5) From the plaster once a good layer of water has formed on it and the plaster appears to have set (best to leave overnight but be sure to allow more than 45 minutes in the instructions) d then take it out. Still follow the instructions, but knowing this will really help you avoid ruining your hand like I did.
