I have to say I'm totally impressed with this great value combo station. I am very satisfied with the processing and material quality. It's not bulletproof by any means and you won't be able to run your car over it, but the construction is admirable for the price! Well, with that said, the only issues others might have with this station are these: Firstly, if the soldering iron is turned to the lowest possible setting with the power switch on, the iron is still hot enough to melt the solder too keep. Flicking the power button will do that. It may be intentional and I don't really mind, but it should be taken into account. Second, the fan turns off when the display reaches 100C when it's back on its stand. Again, when the power switch is off, the power to the element is off, but I've found that you can cool the element down completely because the fan will run until it stops. The 100°C shutdown is intentional. And one final warning: It's very easy to distract the fan while holding a wand. Why only 4 stars? The manual is hard to decipher and mentions some sort of dumb soldering iron calibration procedure that might fix the temperature drift above, but good luck finding it out. The iron is numbered, but there is no corresponding nomenclature? Do I recommend this product, yes, but know what you're getting! Have fun soldering! Addendum: After about a week of heavy use, I add the following two notes. First, the soldering tips that come with the station are of poor quality and wear out fairly quickly with heavy use. Second, I figured out how to calibrate the heating elements for both the fan and the iron. The top hole is for calibrating the heater fan and the bottom hole is for the soldering iron element. These are course corrections and will not give you fine tuning. I did all the tuning on the high end temp as any setting on the low side gave very little results. The available temperatures are pretty accurate and perfect for my needs. I still support this seller and the product is great for avid hobbyists.
