Good quality hook made by a well known quality company. The yarn slides smoothly on the hook. I have used these particular hooks with a variety of yarns/fibers without splitting, tearing or shredding the yarn. These are my favorite crochet hooks for on the go, whether it's an afternoon in the park, a few hours in the knitting group, or a two-week vacation. They often do this when they are outside. Two flaws hardly worth mentioning: 1) The sizes are printed on the notched hook in the same color as each hook, making it difficult to read. As long as they are kept in a vinyl sleeve or are familiar with the color coding, this is not a problem. Again, we knitters/needlewomen most likely own at least 4 needles, so is that really a problem? 2) From time to time, one of the plastic hooks may have a small roughness at the hook tip or other places from the manufacturer, which can get caught in the yarn. Carrying an emery board in your concept bag and light sanding will solve this problem indefinitely. made here and lost so easily I turn to them as my favorite lure for trips outside the home.
