Excellent Wi-Fi mesh for various use cases with 3-band return channel

**** Update Summary 05/30/2020: New FW added QoS to the application for easy prioritization to allow. Through the shelter, WFH has changed the way I use the internet. I like the new features that allow me to prioritize network calls during the day and go back to normal family use at night as I already have fast internet but fast QoS changes are important. I've also added more cameras as the grid now reaches more locations. Still working fine for me *** Update Summary March 20, 2020: New firmware released for both GT-5300 and Zenwifi has made mesh more stable on 3rd band backhaul. The connection speed is smoother and faster when transferring. *** I've been searching and researching mesh technology for the last 2 years because my main router can't provide stable speed for some of my devices in a certain location. Google Wifi is one of my first choices. However, the Google grid cannot manually split the ranges in the SSID diff, which will cause incompatibilities with some of my smart devices at home. Then suddenly ZenWifi was announced, which to my surprise can keep up with my GT-AC5300. This is a big plus for me as it can also use the 3rd lane for dedicated feedback. My home use consists of 2x NAS, 2x security camera diff sets and 15+ different mixed devices. It took me a while to set the correct location on ZenWifi to even out the coverage since my main router is at the lower house end. I also spend a full 7 days testing them all. Pros: - Can be connected to my existing Asus GT-AC5300. - The app is easy to use and setup (Android based user). - Each of ZenWifi has a complete function. Router, including the LAN ports I use. - FW can be updated via the app. - The PC can now transfer data to the NAS at 50+ MB/s and more, which is better than before at 1520 MB/s. Rear wheel traction plays a major role here. For me, using a wireless connection to access the NAS is a big change. - Wife and children's devices now have a stable connection and can support the network for gaming and TV streaming anywhere in the house. - Streaming to the NAS from any Wi-Fi device can now work flawlessly even from any side of the house and garden. - My security cameras and smart devices can now receive a Wi-Fi signal without any problems when I restart them. Cons: - The orientation of the power connector blocks the power button. This does not affect operation, it is just an inconvenience when turning the router on and off. It takes a while to download before you can use it every time you turn on your ZenWifi as long as it minimally impacts my usage as I don't usually restart my routers.
