So great that I bought two more!

We are snowbirds and wanted to be able to see the outside of our houses when we were away from them. We already had indoor security cameras at both locations, but we put off installing an outdoor camera because we didn't want to pay the monthly fee. I have a blooming pink dogwood outside my north living room window, but every year by the time we got up there it had already bloomed. I wanted to see the tree in bloom and all the other early flowers growing around it. That was one of the main reasons I wanted an external camera. (Also just to check the look of the object as a whole.) I googled and checked the Revain reviews and came across the Reolink Argus Pro. It seemed to fit perfectly. I ordered it and the solar panel as they were gone for months and I couldn't charge the battery. The camera and solar panel arrived and was so easy to set up. I mean *really* easy! I downloaded the app to my iPhone and just followed the instructions. Five minutes later the camera was operational. I popped in a 16GB micro SD card and had my husband set up a camera in front of our living room window while I checked out the app to make sure I was seeing everything I wanted to see. We've been experimenting with different settings for a while and have decided to allow push notifications but not email. Push notifications were enough. If you set the app to send email notifications, you'll get a nice shot along with the email. The solar panel keeps the camera constantly charged from 98 to 100%. It was also very easy to install and assemble. Setting up the Reolink client on my laptop was a bit tricky as the instructions aren't as clear as they could be. Argus Pro requires you to enter a UID number, not an IP address. Leave "admin" as the username, but use the password you set for your camera as the password. A bit counterintuitive but with the help of the support team I figured it out. Customer support is online only but they are very patient and responsive. Keep in mind that they are in a different time zone so you will get a response from them the next day after you email them. Be patient. They *will* contact you! Our son was visiting and saw us setting up the camera and immediately went to Revane and ordered one for himself. He loves it too. We then ordered a second one for our other location. We installed it yesterday and added it to the app (very easy) and to the Reolink client on the laptop. Like both cameras, I attached the photo in the Reolink app on a laptop. It's so cool! A two-year warranty is another selling point. This is a really great little camera. The phone and PC apps are really well thought out and the company is very responsive. I highly recommend! Get a micro SD card. Here at Revain, a 16GB Kingston card is only five dollars plus change. Get a solar panel if you don't want to charge your battery from time to time. Both cost extra money.

Pros
  • INSTANT PLAYBACK FOR LOCAL OR CLOUD STORAGE - Argus Pro allows users to add up to 64GB microSD cards to their wireless security camera. Quickly save motion-triggered videos to SD card and Reolink Cloud. Recorded videos can be played through the app and Reolink client without additional subscription fees.
Cons
  • I don't remember
