Review on Realistic Wood Grain Self-Adhesive Furniture Film - 15.7 In X 196 In, White, Easy To Install And Clean, Thick And Full-Coverage For Enhanced Durability by Ben Daugherty

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not 100% opaque, but still looks great.

I recently painted an old sewing cabinet from a dusty old brown to dark blue. I painted the top as well, but the paint kept chipping off, so I decided to use this stuff to cover the top. It is super white, which looks awesome in contrast. It is not, however, completely opaque. Although barely noticeable, the blue is still very slightly showing through the thin parts of the wood grain. The only reason I even noticed was because I had a section where the paper was overlapping, and it was significantly whiter in color. The adhesive is ok, but comes up on some edges. It's a bit of a trade-off in my opinion. You either get something super sticky that will destroy what's under it when removed or adjusted during installation or you get something that is easy to adjust but you have to re-adhesive the edges.Word of caution - don't overlap much, if at all. Just try to line it up so the edges meet.

Pros
  • Looks just like real wood grain for an authentic and beautiful finish
Cons
  • May leave a sticky residue when removed
