Poor quality, noticeable warming from sockets

I bought two of these devices and suspect that using them to charge my phone was at one point the reason the phone's battery suddenly swelled so much that the screen solved and the touch screen stopped working. This prompted me to take a closer look at these extensions and I was shocked to find that despite being plugged in with no devices connected, they both produced a very noticeable heat from the sockets. It was past the return period so I threw it away. A complete waste of money and definitely not worth the risk of a house fire.
