I used this with the redarc universal pigtail and connected the pigtail to my 2018 Colorado which comes with two wires ready to splice. It took about 20-30 minutes with some basic power tools and a drill. Worked great on a homemade 16ft trailer. The brakes were a bit stuck on the trailer so I had to turn on the controller to release them. I have to say that the time invested was worth it.
