I find these containers useful in many places. I like this particular size because it's small enough to keep in a kitchen cupboard but big enough for mixing cake mixes. I can use it to clean food or kitchen utensils. You can store large amounts of grain or beans in the pantry. You can store cherries or leftovers in the fridge or crayons in the arts and crafts department. Strong and durable, they open easily but remain securely locked if desired. Their footprint makes them efficient when used for storage. In addition, nozzles can be stored under containers when not in use. I can and do buy other containers for kitchen and home use. But I think these Rubbermaid containers are the most versatile of them all. Sometimes plastic is difficult to clean, especially when it's greasy. If you can't put it in the dishwasher and you have hard water like in our latitudes, baking soda added to your dish soap can work wonders. They wash to a squeaky finish and are ready to be reused.
