I bought this because I bottle feed an abandoned kitten and I needed to take her to the rodeo for a day. She was able to sleep peacefully most of the day and didn't seem overwhelmed by the experience. Thanks to other reviews I knew I should put something on the bottom of the bag to use as a base as this bag is exactly that; Pocket. I had enough room to put a kitchen towel and a puppy pee pad in the bag to create shape and give the kitty a safe and comfortable place to rest. The mesh provided good airflow and also didn't leave her too cold as she is so young I was worried about her body temperature. I carried the bag while walking as I didn't want it bouncing (and hitting my body as I moved). An adult cat or small dog probably wouldn't mind exercise, but this kitten weighs less than a pound and is very small, and I didn't want to stress her. As a review, I tried putting my adult cat in this bag and got a few good kicks from her paws for my effort. There is room for items on the shoulder strap, but my iPhone was too big. I ended up sticking my ID and some cash in and there was no problem. I would buy it again and recommend it for light use, although I doubt it will last with constant heavy use. I doubt I'll be using it again once the kitten is old enough to be left home alone, but I'm sure I'd love to have it on hand in case I need it for another homeless person who might be telling me about the come away, need again. In addition to the rodeos, she took me to the pet store and grocery store. No one knew I had a tiny kitten in my bag, I'm sure they thought it was a purse (it's so small her head wasn't near the opening and I used adjustable drawstrings to hold it to keep closed).
