Light materials so handle with care. When recording, the recording starts at a slower speed in the center (2.6x on my W10 laptop) and ramps up to 5.9x as it nears the outer edge. On my W7 PC the speed was only 1.6x, but Microsoft says that downloading a proprietary update from Microsoft will fix the speed in Windows 7. When I first used it, the speed on my W10 machine was only 2.1x (for the entire drive), but it's been running faster ever since. I don't know if the wrong driver was originally loaded or if the recorder is going through a "break-in period". Works great with different brands of LTH and HTL Blu-ray discs and different DVDs and CDs (I've used Plex disc, JVC, Ri-Tek, Sony, Philips). Note that USB interfaces are not as reliable as internal buses. You are likely to be influenced by other software and hardware activities on your computer, so keep other activities to a minimum while recording. The USB interface cable is only 8 inches long, which is actually not long enough! My USB hard drives have 15 inch cables so they really made this cable too short. I need to make a stack of books so the cable can reach the computer!
