Review on πŸš— Enhanced VHF/UHF AnyTone Dual Band Mobile Vehicle Transceiver AT-5888UV with Advanced Transmitting Abilities by Malik Axmed

Great device, especially for the price!

Love this setup! I also have an FT8800 and the AT-5888UV does pretty much everything my Yaesu does. I had no problems with programming by hand or with software. The guide is a bit messy, but the essence is clear. I use it as a base connected to a Diamond X-50A @ 25ft vertical antenna and I can meet repeaters over 60 miles away and I live in a valley. The wattmeter shows exactly the specified power: 35W UHF/50W VHF. I hooked up my IC 706mk2g to see if there was any noticeable difference in reception between the two and it's not even close, the 5888 has excellent reception. It reads S7-8 and my 706 doesn't even break noise cancellation. I love that the keys are backlit unlike on my 8800. At a price you almost can't ask for more than this setup gives you. Scanning is very slow and squelch is adjusted in the menu rather than the knobs, but those are really my only major complaints about this radio.
