Good product for hard drive accessories

I ordered a Mediasonic hard drive enclosure on the recommendation of someone on an online forum as I needed some sort of centralized storage for my video files. I'm happy to say that the build quality of this device seems to be good. It works fine but before I figured out how to get it working I sent an email to the company. I received an immediate response to my question. I'm far from fully testing this device, but I'm glad it does what I want to do now, which is to house a 16TB internal hard drive in an external enclosure. This device has capacity for three more hard drives that can be configured in different ways. I can attest that it transfers data from my PC almost as fast as the drive did when it was installed in my PC; That means it downloaded files from my PC at almost 150MB/s for an hour, compared to 180MB/s when the drive was installed in my PC. One important note is that my PC motherboard has two USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A ports, which requires me to find a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C to Type-A cable (the Device comes with Type-C to C). My first attempt was to use an AC adapter, but I couldn't get a reliable connection to transfer data from the device to my computer. The Mediasonic drive enclosure is a solid device that performs well, although its user interface and controls are basic. The drive's configuration is set up with a cryptic sequence of button presses between the front and back of the device, which can be a bit inconvenient when done under a table in low light. I still don't understand why the rear Type-C port is identified as a hub but the side Type-C is not. and various similar questions come to mind about this device. So, the configuration of this device is a bit complicated. However, once set up, it works without any problems.

Cons
  • Can I add something?
