This is the official full-featured walkie-talkie (long range, all frequencies, volume control, etc.) and some really great features, convenient for kids. I have a 5 year old and a 2 year old and the VOX setting allows me to change the 2 year old to wake up when he speaks into him (ie without pressing a button) while my 5 year old wakes up with the classic push of a button -> says -> "done" -> release experience. Also, I can lock the frequency and enable CTCSS so they only talk to each other. The flashlight is also a nice bonus. After all, they have been thrown around the room on hardwood several times and have held up flawlessly so far. Highly recommended
