It's fun and handy for preschool and school age kids. Sound quality is pretty clear, although we haven't tested it over long distances. I wish they had an auto shut off as my kids love to use the flashlight function so they stay on to drain the batteries. It is best to buy rechargeable batteries for these walkie talkies as they will run out quickly even if you remember to turn them off after use.

Bought for my daughter as an incentive to do well at school. I thought that for the price they would be interesting to use at home or in the garden. In fact, they go far. We live in a small hilly town and these things are still working a mile away. Now we can talk while I'm at work. The flash is great. They are very easy to use. I bought these for our granddaughters/three sisters aged nine, six and two. The price was reasonable in the mid $30 range but I think you get what you pay for. I thought batteries came with it and was disappointed when it didn't. So I put 12 batteries in three devices, gave them to my granddaughters and showed them how to use them. This is the official full-featured walkie-talkie (long range, all frequencies, volume control, etc.) and some really great features, convenient for kids.
