The product fit well when I installed it on a 2007 Ford Five Hundred and it seemed strong enough, but the claimed 'dynamic damping technology' doesn't seem to work. in general - since the trunk lid does not slow down in the upper part of the opening and hits the loop, stops hard and rebounds. Original parts have a pronounced slowdown at full open, but this one doesn't. I haven't seen the typical bypass groove on the wall of the damping tube that you see on OE parts from Stabilus, the OE supplier. Now I have to decide whether to keep them and live with the rattling, send back the old ones that don't quite open in the cold, or spend even more money to get a better dampened one.
