Review on 💪 PNY Optima 240GB 2.5-Inch SSD: Enhanced Performance and Reliability by Marc Oner

Ok after reading the reviews I admit I was a bit wary with this SSD. Now, after installing it on my four year old laptop, it's my turn to review this PNY SSD. Out of the box you have an SSD and a Pad. All I had to do was transfer information from my old hard drive to my SSD docking station using Acronis. After the transfer was complete, I simply swapped out the hard drives in the laptop, rebooted, and was good to go. Before I removed the old drive, I calculated the boot time from power on to browsing. 3:34 it was time. After installing this drive and doing NOTHING, I turned it on and was ready to surf in 27 seconds. This is a HUGE improvement. My Windows Experience Score went from 5.9 to 7.7. I have a SATA 2 connection, so I certainly can't get the maximum speed that new computers can get from this drive. I will say this, my speeds are 332 reads 229 writes. Not bad for the cheapest 240GB SSD on the market. As for durability, time will tell. But if you need an SSD and are on a budget, take the plunge and see how much better than any hard drive this little hard drive has to offer. Advantages: CHEAP! Easy to install, exceptional speed, runs quiet and cool. Cons: No guide or software for cloning.
