Review on 🚘 Hotwin First Inertia Switch: Advanced Vehicle Crash Sensor for Ignition and Electric Fuel Pump Safety by John Carter

Works great, a few minutes of effort is worth a huge saving

Great! Install it on a 1988 Ford Ranger (it's universal). If you suspect your original inertia switch is defective, you can unplug it and run a wire between the terminals. Then try to run it. If it works, the switch needs to be replaced (compared to expensive fuel pumps). Now the OEM switch is over $100 and I was hesitant to try this switch which requires 'rewiring' but it's easy and well worth the significant savings. It took me a minute to understand the instructions in the reviews, but when I did, great. I'll try to clarify the instructions here: The modification required is to move the wire on the harness. The wire in the middle should be at the end (at the points "C" and "NC" see the switch itself what they are for). I was able to use a flathead screwdriver to pry open the yellow panel and a small flathead screwdriver inserted from the top (at the end of the wires) to loosen the wire. Then simply shifted by one place. Other reviews didn't mention how to know which of the two wires on my car goes to which side of this switch. But wait, it doesn't matter. This is just a circuit breaker that closes the connection if the switch wobbles (e.g. if the car overturns or has been in an accident). This switch can therefore be used universally. This kit comes with two connectors so all you have to do is cut the wires before the old wiring harness and clip the supplied clamps over the wires. Reliable). This switch works great and requires 15 minutes more effort (compared to the one for your car which plugs directly into an outlet). It's worth it and it's a great buy!
