. I have surface water so it's not hard but after about 2 weeks the wicks become crusty and ineffective. While I use clean tap water, I've tried machine water which is said to be softer and better filtered and the results have been the same. So I use them to save as much money as possible. With all the wicks available, I'd love to hear from those who buy other brands, but I don't know how to ask such questions about Revain. If you could tell me I would be grateful.
