Once you get the hang of the process and build muscle memory for the right pull, this sharpener is amazing. It took me six times with an old mallet knife to get the hang of it and now it's a breeze. Today is the second day and every knife in the house is terribly sharp. My wife sliced the tomatoes thin enough to read through easily.
