Short moments:1. Has decent night vision as you can see the surroundings. Better than expected. Pay attention to the video and note that the section of highway is not lit (it is lit only by headlights); impressive.2. To read license plates from the device: if you are not near the car at night and the rear brake lights do not blind you, you can capture it. This is the hardest part of any dash cam, but at least it has a chance. You're more likely to upgrade to a 4k camera, but night vision tech really needs to improve on that. The time of day is very similar to most other DVRs. Most DVRs handle this scenario well, so I won't say too much here. The 10 inch display covers exactly my existing mirror. And that would mean my car mirror would block the camera. However, the camera may slip out. It's better than having your old mirror sticking out to the side (right side) behind the dash. Camera.5. The screen is all mirror. So you can see a lot of details. If you're using a dash cam that has a smaller display than a mirror, you might get used to having the video on, but you can still see in the mirror behind you.
