Review on Shoyeidos White Cloud Incense Sticks by Emily Allen

To clarify bad reviews of a fake

Just to clarify bad reviews of a fake. It's not fake, and it would be so nice if people couldn't easily label so many products as fake because of a packaging change or something. Shoyeido has two white clouds, period. They should be the same but have one small difference. One of these is a small pack of long sticks intended for the US market, which are brown in color. There's also one sold in other parts of the world, including direct order stores in the US, which are grey-blue sticks that some describe as slate grey. These sticks, in addition to their large cardboard bundles, are packaged in a small circular paper pack with the same color print. Same weight as this one but in a round pack, shorter sticks in different colors. I have both and yes they are two different batches and colors. Both are White Cloud, just slightly different ingredients. They smell very similar depending on your nose and both are good. Some people like brown sticks while others like greyish ones. You can find round or large gray sticks in boxes at stores that order directly from Shoyeido. It could be a choice for shops or no choice is mentioned. However, these are true White Cloud Sticks, just a slight difference in marketing for reasons unknown to me. Shoyeido itself wouldn't make sense selling copies of incense, would it? They're sellers here, and that's where my brown sticks came from. I think these two will be a toss-up. My daughter likes the gray chopsticks better and I like these brown chopsticks better. The main thing I noticed is that they are stronger than greyish sticks. Maybe a little more clove and patchouli. Much luck

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for the elderly
