Best SPD Bike Sandboxes

I've tried most of them including Lake, Keen and Shimano and I like the Exustar the best. Very well made, lots of ventilation, very comfortable and at a great price of $80. Exustar also makes Nashbar's Ragster II sandals, but they don't have a third Velcro strap and I do notice a difference, especially when opening, as the extra strap creates less space between my foot and the sandal. Keen Commuter III is definitely better than its previous models but they are expensive and the narrow velcro strap on the top of the foot was uncomfortable. Also, they have too much coverage and you might as well wear shoes. Shimano was painful to wear after about an hour. I mean they really hurt the soles of my feet. I thought it was just me but came across others voicing the same issue. I use them for commuting but they are really good for touring. All sandals are better for touring than shoes. Nothing beats air between your toes when it's warm. If it gets colder, put on a sock. Good merino wool padding actually insulates sandals better than shoes because it doesn't compress. If it's cold and rainy, socks and shoe covers. If it's very cold and/or rainy, sock, seal, then over booty. Also, sandals dry quickly when they get wet because they don't get wet like shoes do. Wet your shoes on the tour and they'll stay damp until the weather changes or you find a dryer. Great sandals and great price. I'd happily pay $120 (price per keen) for it if I had to.
