Review on ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Efficient Sabrent USB 3.2 Tool-Free Enclosure for NVMe PCIe M Key M.2 SSD [Black] (EC-TFNB) by Jon Russell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

USB-C connector not used internally

The built-in USB-C port is poor quality junk. The first one I got kept cutting off due to lack of friction. It doesn't have the firm but gentle positive friction of a USB-C connection to a Mac laptop. When you plug a USB-C cable into a Mac laptop, you can feel a tight but reasonable friction that tells you there's a quality component inside. The tool-free Sabrent USB 3.2 body connections are friction-free (non-locking) and the cable will pop and disconnect with even a slight movement or tug. I requested a replacement and the second is exactly the same. It could have been a really good device, but Sabrent cheated their product and damaged their company's reputation by using poor quality components. Customer service/technical support was not good either. They originally wanted me to return the item and pay for shipping before sending a replacement. I will not buy anything from Sabrent that costs more than $10. Update: Brian at Sabrent kindly asked me to contact support and they were very helpful and support arranged the exchange in a timely manner. I had a much better experience than the first time. The slippage issue has been addressed with the new USB-C cable, so the cable won't detach itself while you're using the cable. However, the USB-C port has not been improved over the previous device. While I'm not thrilled with the USB-C port, I give credit to the support team for reaching out and trying to improve things. So I will re-rate this 4 stars from 1 star.
