I'm a family freak so my husband's relatives call tech support and I'm happy to help. The last call I got was from my mother in law and her 1 year old Dell laptop booted intermittently. We decided it would be best to get a new hard drive. I was afraid of wasting time installing all their programs from scratch, so I decided to buy a Thermaltake BlacX eSATA USB Hard Drive Dock along with a new drive and try cloning. existing hard drive. Luckily, the old drive lasted long enough to run Acronis True Image on it, and the docking station did the job well. I did the procedure via USB and everything was fine. I connected a new drive to my laptop and you didn't notice any difference other than there was more space on the drive. (She used to have a 160GB drive). Out of the box performance was good and it's been running for about a month without any issues. I recommend
