My daughter is four years old and has outgrown a 3 wheel micro mini. I was a bit nervous if it would still be strong and durable given the heavier weight and tendency to go at higher speeds and negotiate bigger bumps. I'm happy to report that my fears have been allayed as the installation requirements are minimal and the bolts are less likely to come loose (as read on competing two wheel scooters). While I would have preferred the same plastic base over a metal base, I understand it's intended for a different age group, so maybe the metal makes it more durable for a heavier weight class. I am very happy with the purchase.
