I have 3 cockatiels and 2 lovebirds, each species is in a big cage. My cockatiels were scared of berries when I first put them in but eventually got curious and started eating them, whereas my lovebirds started eating them as soon as I put them in their tray. However, the design of the cage means that the berries are lost when the birds pick them up and crush them, and the pieces are lost at the bottom of the cage. that the birds can't reach, I think that will be the case for many customers, so sometimes when I was checking my birds I would find them at the bottom of the cage looking down at the spoiled berries. What they do is the cockatiels eat them in the tray, but the lovebirds take them and go somewhere else to eat them. I've found that both species of birds only eat the seed parts and avoid the berry parts, but that's just my birds as I've also tried feeding their vegetables with no eating success. I'll be swapping out her cage for another one soon, so I'll try again in the future.
