I picked up a free bike with one of these derailleurs and got an exact replacement. After pulling the gears to put the chain on, all I had to do was screw the device into place. I then connected the cable and adjusted the bike, I was able to go through the gears and adjust the cable and fine tune it with the adjustment screws. Works perfectly. I also had to buy a seat post and seat cushion and now I have a new bike. My old one was too small for me but my 12 year old grandson loves her.
