One of our rescued animals is an elderly mini donkey. We're told he's 42 years old and while he appears to be in excellent shape, we've also seen him shiver often during our cold Colorado winters. After an incident with a more traditional blanket with straps and metal clasps that resulted in ripping, tearing and almost a heart attack (for me), I was afraid to try a different blanket. However, the cold came back and I had to do something. That's when I found this gem. I am very glad that this blanket offers velcro closures. The belly band can be made a little tighter to keep the blank from curling. There are adjustable straps on the front to help you get a more precise fit. It fits a lot better than our last blanket.
