I thought they would break if they got wet, but it turns out they don't fall apart that easily, so you can put freshly washed grapes or something in there. It keeps well in the fridge until lunch and we all know how soggy (even wet) they can get. I'm on my second pack right now. Love it. Don't try to wash reusable items.
