I used this product to repair stripped threads in aluminum on my car's transmission pan. I drilled a hole, used the included tap to cut the threads, then proceeded to insert the spool. The coils had trouble going into a threaded hole. They go in a pair of threads, and then the coil's metal tab (which you'll have to break off once inserted) is cut off. I double checked that the new threads are clean and the faucet is easy to hand tighten. I ended up going to Autozone and paying about $13 more for a similar set of coils. The kit included the same tap, so there was no need to rewind the thread. The new spool came with a much better tool for gripping the pull tab to thread the line and within seconds the job was finally done. I thought I was doing something wrong with this Revain kit, but apparently it was a cheap kit that cost me a few extra hours for what was supposed to be a simple job.
