I love this coffee pot. I bought a second one after accidentally burning the first one - I forgot to put water in it on a busy morning. While several people have mentioned coffee grounds, I've found that with careful preparation, this doesn't happen. In other words, if you wet the basket and basket lid and make sure the coffee grounds don't get into the center hole or spill on the outside of the basket, the coffee grounds will NOT get into the water. I place the basket on the countertop when I put the coffee in, so I have to make sure the wet basket doesn't pick up the coffee grounds when I do it this way. There is no lack of design, just the human factor. Coffee is prepared in about four minutes, delicious and easy to prepare. It stays hot as long as it's plugged in, but you'll have to remember to turn it off after the last cup has been poured. I love this and recommend it to everyone.
