Not like Farberware used to be!

I had my first Farberware coffee pot in the 80s. It took 20 years. This purchase was made to replace a Farberware coffee pot that was less than 2 years old. According to many reviews of these coffee pots, it was the thermostat. This new pot is even lighter than the warm one, so to speak, and the handle is cheaper to make, with a pronounced strip of plastic protruding from the seam of the poor quality handle mould. This is a temporary coffee pot for when their thermostat fails. I have to get…

Replaced our 1973 Farberware coffee maker.

Coffee brewed in a Farberware electric coffee maker, made in New York, which we received as a 1973 hen party gift. (Simple times with simpler gifts). We've used it sporadically over the years and it worked like a champ until this month it just stopped brewing. In our discarding society, there is no longer anyone who repairs small household appliances. So we decided to give it a try, it looks pretty much the same except there's no see-through lid at the top so you can see the coffee being…

Great little percolator!

I love this coffee pot. I bought a second one after accidentally burning the first one - I forgot to put water in it on a busy morning. While several people have mentioned coffee grounds, I've found that with careful preparation, this doesn't happen. In other words, if you wet the basket and basket lid and make sure the coffee grounds don't get into the center hole or spill on the outside of the basket, the coffee grounds will NOT get into the water. I place the basket on the countertop when I…

it has a bad thermostat. I bought 2 new thermostats (as recommended.

The thermostat needed to be replaced immediately. So I watched a YouTube video about this coffee maker and weak coffee. If it doesn't brew for more than 7 minutes , it has a bad thermostat Bought 2 new thermostats (as recommended in the video) and waiting 3 weeks for them to arrive (probably from China) Until the new part arrives I have to brew the weak coffee and then pour the top I will tell everyone advise against buying this product. UPDATE: So new thermostats have arrived. Not worth…

It was a great pot that made great coffee, I bought two of these. I have one at work and one at home. I wish it had a stupid light so you know it's on and can remind you to turn it off. UPDATE - today the one I use for work couldn't get the water hot enough to brew coffee. I tried again, new water and coffee, and it didn't work. I had this less than a year. I've searched the internet for troubleshooting tips and found that the problem is probably related to the thermostat. I disassembled the…

Drop The Drip & Kill the Keurig: Percolate ☮️

I got tired of going to Starbucks in the mornings when I was working from home because of the inconsistent taste of my drip machine and Keurig's ineptitude to prepare a cup that stayed hot to the end. Used paper filter cones from my drip machine, along with piles of used plastic Keurig brew cups, only added to my dislike of processed coffee. and an auto-warm feature that stays on and keeps coffee 25% hotter than Drip or Keurig. The eighth cup is as hot as the first, and the coffee itself is a…

This is my third Farberware pan in 20 years. Not a bad record for what I use every day. In comparison, my mother still uses grandma's crockery from the 70s. Both coffee makers make a fantastic cup of coffee, which is why I always swap out my utensils for different ones. Here is the low level. Pros: The best cup of coffee you can make at home. I've had other types and brands of coffee makers/percolators and just have nothing to compare them to. Whether you're using cheap or expensive coffee, the
