It was a great pot that made great coffee, I bought two of these. I have one at work and one at home. I wish it had a stupid light so you know it's on and can remind you to turn it off. UPDATE - today the one I use for work couldn't get the water hot enough to brew coffee. I tried again, new water and coffee, and it didn't work. I had this less than a year. I've searched the internet for troubleshooting tips and found that the problem is probably related to the thermostat. I disassembled the coffee pot (removing the nut at the bottom) and removed the thermostat, then I cleaned the thermostat where it touches the coffee pot with an eraser and also where it attaches to the coffee pot. Although this area looks clean, oxidation can occur and prevent good mating contact. I put it back together and it works great. I also ordered 6 new thermostats from Amazon for about $8 just in case. So I've updated this to like it because Farberware still makes a great coffee pot, it's just that the thermostats might be a little finicky. Anyone can solve this problem in less than 10 minutes. Here are replacement thermostats that will last until the pan falls apart. Uxcell KSD301 90C 194F NC Normally Closed Thermostat Temperature Thermal Switch (5pcs) Look for this in Revain
