I bought them for renovation of the house with my own hands. I used them to drill through joists and joists to run wires throughout the house and they worked great. I used to use a paddle bit as that was all I had (I'm new to all this) and it took a lot of work, effort and about 20 minutes to go through the joist, with these bits it took about 5 lasted seconds. Another use on the lawn of a house I just bought was 3 large tree stumps. I saw an idea on a website that suggested drilling through a tree stump and adding some kind of chemical to rot the tree stump. I decided to make pilot holes with these bits. Worked amazing until I hit a soft spot in a tree stump and got stuck a bit! Oops, that's the other side of their effectiveness. Luckily, after using the drilled pilot holes, a sledgehammer and a splitter, I cracked open the stump, took the section with the chisel and cut it out. After that, the chisel was still in perfect shape - it was fully there when my drill bit came in flush with the stump. They are fast and durable.
