As a furniture maker I have never used the cheap thin leaf hinges found in hardware stores and large stores. I even made my own solid brass hinges, I hate shop hinges so much. I actually bought them on a whim to try and save a buck. Thick solid brass hinges are usually very expensive. It was worth it. The fit and finish is just as good as what I usually buy at about 1/4 the price. Thick sashes with no play in the hinge function. They are absolutely perfect for great projects. The only complaints I have, and they're minor, are the desire for a polished version in addition to the matte one, and I wish they had a square and a rounded version. It's nice to be positively surprised by something.
