Short answer: A glass carafe will work, but a plastic lid might not. If you keep your old lid, you can attach it to a glass carafe. This is the second time I've had to replace the glass carafe on the DCM2160B coffee pot and I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. The glass carafe fits all coffee makers listed (I am guessing) but the carafe comes with two plastic lids and these lids will NOT fit all coffee pots listed. On the outside of the box it was written that the carafe is suitable for the same coffee machines that are listed in the ad. However! The glass carafe comes with two plastic lids. According to the user manual in the box, cover 1 is suitable for: DLX1050B/W, DE755/B, DCM100B/W, DLX and cover 2 is suitable for CM1010B and CM5050. I can be sure that NONE of the covers will fit the DCM2160B and I will be suspicious. any other model not specifically listed for either cover. Solution: If you keep your old lid, you can attach it to your new glass carafe and you're back in business. If you do not have the original plastic lid, pay close attention to which lid comes with the carafe. I'm not sure how you (or the seller) would have known if you hadn't opened the box and read the printed instructions. The appearance of the box is completely misleading. Much luck!
