My first French press

I decided it was time for a new coffee maker so I checked here . I didn't want it to be primarily plastic, nor made in China. Can not be found. And all the time I read the reviews, I kept coming across suggestions that a French Press is what you need. So I tried this one as my first and it's kinda nice. Homemade coffee has never tasted so good! The thing makes exactly one cup of coffee, so that the coffee lying on the stove does not become stale and bitter. If you want to make your own great coffee, buy one of these and a coffee grinder. I picked up this Kyocera ceramic coffee grinder, also a wonderful product. How can you go wrong? Great tasting coffee, no electricity required (I can enjoy coffee even when the power goes out!), both for less than $50! Then I'll buy a bigger press when I have visitors. Came back to add to this review: I realized I was mostly commenting on the use of the French press in general, not much information on this particular one. I noticed that the beaker is quite thin and you have to be extra careful with it. Also, it looks like there won't be a spare mug available if you break it (I already broke mine accidentally throwing it off the counter), so I may have to buy the entire press again. However, I was impressed with the quality of the plunger/strainer, good build quality and I didn't see a grain of coffee grounds in my coffee.

Pros
  • Secondary filter in lid, twist lid to close spout and keep warm, twist back to pour and filter out accidental grinds
Cons
  • Vulgarity
