For the price you can't go wrong. It does the job well. I really expected the thermos to keep the coffee hotter for longer. Keeps the coffee hot for 2 hours, after which it gets just over warm. You can still drink for up to 4 hours, but after that I'll pour it out and make a new pot. The coffee flavor is good after the first few pots and that's after I poured water over it just 3 times before brewing the coffee. I would suggest buying a cheap bag of coffee to run in the coffee maker a few times before brewing some delicious coffee lol. As for the strong brew, I don't feel any difference in taste. My last coffee maker had a glass top and the heater went out after an hour so I tried this one and so far I like it. I drink 4 hours instead of 1. The only downside is the lack of sound so you don't hear when the pot is done. Easy to clean and comes with a reusable filter.
