First of all you buy something cheap and you are surprised by better than expected performance. I don't really kick this article in the teeth because it's imperfect and looks weird. For the price you can't go wrong. It does the job well. I really expected the thermos to keep the coffee hotter for longer. Keeps the coffee hot for 2 hours, after which it gets just over warm. You can still drink for up to 4 hours, but after that I'll pour it out and make a new pot. The coffee flavor is good after the first few pots and that's after I poured water over it just 3 times before brewing the coffee. I would suggest buying a cheap bag of coffee to run in the coffee maker a few times
