I installed this in a pumping station to back up a 1HP booster pump which I mainly use to maintain high water pressure when watering the garden. My water comes from a nearby well that tries to maintain a pressure of about 60psi, but when I turn on the sprinklers the pressure drops to about 40. This unit is set to turn on at 40 and turn on at 65psi leaks out and it shuts off - for low pressure when the line drops to 30-35 psi. Resetting after a loss of pressure requires some fiddling, but at least the pump doesn't burn out. We are preparing to install a 2500 gallon storage tank to service both houses and then my pump will hold all the pressure on my side of the system and that unit becomes even more important. The advantage of a new setup is that there is always water in the line (as long as there is water in the tank) and I don't have to worry about refilling.
