Review on πŸ”¦ Light & Motion Rando 500 High-Capacity Battery Adventure Light - Extendable with USB Battery Pack, Black & Tan, One Size by Sam Kriegshauser

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Bad customer service. The documentation is even worse.

So I have my second Rando 500 light. The first light was under warranty and probably shouldn't have been. So I'm writing this review to save Light N Motion money on their warranty claims :-) (note the sarcasm). Both times I contacted Light and Motion customer service and it took me about a week to get a response. Don't try to call. The first guarantee process was quite successful. light problem? There is a strange LED blinking that is not documented in the manual, or the LED lights up while charging. Let's continue in a month. I get a spare light and after the first ride the spare light behaves the same way. I contacted support early last week and still haven't received a response from them. Luckily I read another review here on Revain that helped me figure out what was going on. You must use the orange charging cable that comes with the flashlight when it falls below a certain discharge level. As soon as I went into my bike pack set and used this cable the light started charging as per the manual. Light and Motion must publish a technical bulletin notifying customers of this, or they may continue to ship replacement lights to people when they are not needed. All documentation says the orange USB cable is required for on-the-go charging, nothing about it being needed to charge the flashlight at a specific discharge state.
