great runtime

Finally a light manufacturer has released a great light with long runtime instead of flimsy lumen claims. With 3 hours at altitude, this light is no problem for most riders. 500 lumens is a ton of light and the Rando 500 delivers it. It's also nice that it works while charging from your USB battery pack or your e-bike's USB port. 5 stars in all respects.

Solid light best when cycling

I have been using this light on long distance rides for many years. The light at the 3rd brightest level lasts for 6 hours as advertised and more importantly you can charge and use it at the same time. If you like driving at night and don't use a dyno or don't want to upgrade to your dyno wheels, this is a great flashlight. I have 2 of these and have used them in combination many times at night.

Great light, questionable charger location

I had this flashlight for about 3 months before it was stolen. The charging capability is amazing and I was able to do maybe a thousand miles in three months without plugging it into the wall. Charger. The brightness is very good and I really like the pulsating lowest level - that was my setup for bike paths and trails. On the road, I prefer the middle two settings for the best view. The only drawback is the location of the charging port. This worked for me, but it's a little awkward to have it

A great disadvantage! for headlight

Engineers, why would you design a Rando bike light that can only be charged with a small proprietary cable that you supply with the light? I read this somewhere else and thought mine was working fine? You can charge with another cable until the battery is low enough... Then when you try to charge it, the light will turn on automatically and there is nothing you can do to turn it off. You must use the small cord that comes with the lamp... I've tried many others with the same results. It must be

If you call it "Rando " it needs to be done better.

When I was figuring out how to remove the flashlight from the quick release mount, a small plastic nut that was initially too tight to turn loosened the metal screw it was supposed to attach to. Also the USB cover, which for me is really badly placed for charging during use, has already come off. I'm hoping that the plastic latch that holds it in place will hold it in place over time because I ride my bike in the rain all the time. Well, "rando" means you will ride it like the organizedโ€ฆ

Bad customer service. The documentation is even worse.

So I have my second Rando 500 light. The first light was under warranty and probably shouldn't have been. So I'm writing this review to save Light N Motion money on their warranty claims :-) (note the sarcasm). Both times I contacted Light and Motion customer service and it took me about a week to get a response. Don't try to call. The first guarantee process was quite successful. light problem? Not a very good light and not worth the price

I bought the Rando 500 because I have a Light & Motion Urban 350 and it was GREAT, but the Urban has a battery life of around 90 minutes at high power. Rando can be used while charging, so it can reportedly run all night on external power. I expected this headlight to match the quality of my previous headlight of the same brand, but it doesn't. The LED looks cheap. , with bluish light in the center and a halo of orange-yellow light, then more blue light at the edges of the beam. My old Urbanโ€ฆ
