This is real quality. Heavy duty quality cast and machined steel. The leg is made of steel and will last a long time without breaking. The steel plate is very thick and rigid. I had a caliper piston that wouldn't move with my other tools and it compresses it with no problem. The best part is that the threaded insert is welded all around in the plate and won't rotate in the plate no matter what you do. The knob is all you need in most cases, but when the going gets tough the hex head makes it easy to get the torque when you need it.
