Review on 🚿 Powerful 1 Gallon Foaming Wheel & Tire Cleaner: Mothers 05902 by Jonathan Fernandez

I am very disappointed in Mothers, usually an excellent and trustworthy brand. I really wanted it to work, but there were problems. First off I think this product contains chlorine bleach which explains the brown color of the foam when it hits the rubber. That also explains the slimy feeling that doesn't wash off your fingers. Does it clean the rubber? Yes; most of time. The rubber on the top of the tire was clean, flat, black and sticky like raw rubber. The bottom half of the gum is also sticky but brownish-black with spots. Not impressed. The instructions state that you don't have to wipe; Simply spray, rinse and let dry to avoid staining (it really dries without staining). But a close look at the instructions shows that really dirty tires do require some cleaning/wiping. My tires weren't dirty; I pre-cleaned them with a 3100psi pressure washer; they were already black. But I didn't get a good, evenly black result until I wiped it off before rinsing. But because the rubber feels terribly exposed to the environment, like it's wet, some kind of protectant was absolutely necessary to prevent oxidation and restore the tire's good looks. I don't want shiny, I just want flat/satin. But the problems don't end there. The $5 price seems reasonable until you realize that one bottle only cleaned three wheels on my 4runner. If you have small wheels, all four can work. If you do decide to try it I recommend using gloves as my hands were quite stiff rubbing the cleaner with a rag. In addition, it is obtained in the form of foam, so it is difficult to get an even coating. It seems better to apply foam dots to most of the rubber surface, then wipe, wait a few seconds, then rinse thoroughly. Use car soap and a rag to clean metal rims. Make sure you have a good protection product for later use.
