I used approximately 1/3 of the concentrated colors on these 100% cotton bags (the straps are nylon and were pre-colored). The dye sat on the fabric for 24 hours, and certainly worked, but I feel like I should have used more of the powder in my mix. The colors did fade after washing. If you are looking for brighter colors, you may have to use most of the powder provided.The instructions say to wash the fabrics prior to trying to dye them. If you're doing canvas bags like I was, I'd recommend washing twice before - there was a lot of sizing on the fabric, and it was difficult to get the dye to sink in, in places where it wasn't washed as well (like the corners).
