I bought this for yogurt making and compared it to my Fluke 52 digital thermometer with Type K thermocouple. It reads within 0.5 degrees Fahrenheit of Fluke. However, Fluke reads exactly 2 seconds later. This takes at least 25 seconds. But the thermocouple I use with Fluke says "not for immersion" (although it works fine), so I wanted an affordable immersion thermocouple. The Fluke Immersion Probe on Revain is currently $84.95 so I decided to give it a try. Because the dip probe design is different from the bare wire thermocouple on my Fluke, the Fluke version can also read much slower; but I have no experience with that. All in all it works and is pretty accurate. But it's slow and it doesn't have an on/off switch. You have to unscrew the cover and remove the battery if you want to turn it off. Note, however, that it's sold as a "panel mount" thermometer, which means it needs to be mounted somewhere where it's constantly monitoring something. Pool, aquarium, etc. That's what it's made for, I don't care about its flaws, and it's a 5-star product if it proves to be durable.
