Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality exceeds all expectations, I recommend to buy.

I am satisfied with the purchase, I took MPTT2, the American version from outbids (and this is a saving of almost 60 pieces compared to the official cost), I print almost blindly. The American keyboard has a long left shift and a horizontal enter, which is also important to me. The closest competitor in quality is Dell Precision, but it's almost impossible to get it in the top config, I tried. The XPS 15 is also not bad, but the quality is not the same - the chokes whistle, the CO does not cope, the Pentile matrix, the battery holds 2 times less and other joys of coproeconomics. The Asus Zenbook Pro is even worse off. And the rest is not suitable for work at all. The segment of professional or work laptops has long been stagnant, even as IBM hit the oak. For convenient work, you will have to spend money on adapters and new cables. The minimum set will cost a hundred bucks. For many citizens, this was a tragedy, but I don’t understand the noise about new ports, in the 1950s, connectors weighed 10 kg each and were the size of a suitcase, this is progress, everything is changing. I change a similar set of cables and peripherals every 5-10 years. The touchbar left a mixed impression. It's customizable and that's a plus. But I really don't like touch Esc. Well, the rest of the buttons are constantly changing position, so you can’t blindly press it, you have to look away and be distracted. Magnetic charging is mainly for crooked goblins, I don’t need it, but the fact itself looks like a downgrade, very ugly. In general, there is nothing better for this money now.

Pros
  • 1. The screen is beyond praise. This is one of the best laptop screens in general and the best in its class. High resolution, high brightness (500 nits), high contrast ratio (1500:1), P3 color gamut, anti-glare, honest RGB. On its own, it doesn't seem like much, but taken together, it's cool. For example, high brightness means good light transmission of the matrix, which affects autonomy. Brightness and antiglare allow you to work in bright light. Contrast makes it comfortable to work in the dark. Color gamut means using high-quality LED backlights, which means less eye-damaging blue light. High resolution allows you to zoom without losing detail. 2. The sound is not just great, it is the best among laptops, loud balanced speakers, excellent noise-cancelling microphone 3. Performance, the highest in its class. HQ processor that keeps the load at stock frequencies without throttling. SSD as fast as diarrhea, up to 3 gigabytes per second 4. Thunderbolt 3 is the future today. Universal port for connecting anything, it is connected to the PCIe bus. My laptop is connected to the docking station with a single cable that connects charging, an external 4K monitor and peripherals. Power or a monitor can now be connected from either side. You can connect a total of 4 monitors. So the laptop turns into a powerful workstation. 5. Compactness as in typical 14" ultrabooks. Excellent minimalist design. The case is monolithic, there is no backlash or bending. 6. The cooling system is great. Under light load, the laptop is silent, albeit warm. Even when an external monitor is connected, the fans run at minimum. The air intake from the corners and from the grate is very difficult to block. 7. Trackpad, the best among laptops, size, gestures, tactile feedback, nothing backlash. The keyboard is comfortable, quiet, the backlight is uniform, automatic, customizable Touch Bar, Touch Id 8. Autonomy, best in class
Cons
  • Most of the cons can be attributed to macOS and software, and this is not for everyone. Among iron I want to note: 1. Not enough memory for a top-end laptop that claims to be a workstation. But this is an Intel cant, which does not support LPDDR4 for HQ processors of the latest generations. 2. Due to the size of the trackpad, hands touch it and you have to click on pressing, not touching. 3. The touchbar is bad not because there is no F1-F12, they are almost never used in macOS, but because of Esc 4. Autonomy can drop significantly under high load 5. No magnetic charging
