I am a beginner and was looking for a pair of cycling shorts as my crotch area was so sore after an 8-10 mile ride. My main concern was the sit bones. I did a little research and found this pair to be a reliable, inexpensive, and quality option. **Disclaimer: I have never owned cycling shorts so I have no comparison. ** This pair is adequately padded - not too thin, not too thick. I rode it today and the difference is huge. Doesn't hurt AT ALL. Fit wise I got it a medium size - perfect fit (mine is 5.5, 130lbs). The material is not thick, breathable. Doesn't rise at all. Overall very satisfied!
